Duties: Serve as a supervising attending physician for the Obstetrics and Gynecology Residency Program, including in clinics, in the hospitals, and during surgery. Supervise the delivery of care to patients in assigned clinics. Provide general OB/GYN care in inpatient and outpatient settings. Collaborate in the development of standards of care practice guidelines and care maps as appropriate for outpatient and hospitalized OB/GYN patients. Serve up to five labor and delivery calls per month. Participate in interdisciplinary clinical quality improvement programs. Participate in medical student clinical teaching and conferences. Participate in resident morning conferences, morbidity and mortality reviews, and other didactic sessions. Provide lectures/presentations to the residents. Qualifications: Candidates must have an MD or DO degree. Board-certified or board-eligible in obstetrics and gynecology. Licensed or eligible for licensure in the State of Illinois. A desire to practice in an academic medical setting. Experience in teaching physician residents and medical students is preferred. Academic rank is subject to experience.
Pontiac, Illinois - Practice with one other OB/GYN physician and Certified Nurse Midwife. Lab and x-ray are on site. Practice is located in the medical center with the Family Birthing Center. Current physicians average approximately 150 deliveries per year. A physician with surgical gynecology skills (abdominal, lap-assisted, and vaginal hysterectomies) is desired.
