  • Emergency Department Core Faculty

  • Peoria, Illinois - OSF Saint Francis Medical Center is a major teaching affiliate of the University Of Illinois College Of Medicine at Peoria, with a total of 14 Emergency Medicine residents a year in a competitive TL1-2-3 program. As the area’s only Level 1 Trauma Center, OSF Saint Francis Medical Center ED is highest level designated in trauma care as a base station and resource hospital for EMS. There is a Pediatric ED within the ED. OSF Saint Francis Medical Center serves as the resource hospital for emergency medical services along with 78 agencies for north central Illinois. The emergency department also staffs an 18 bed clinical decision unit adjacent to the ED. OSF Saint Francis Medical Center averages 88,000 emergency department visits annually, with a 22% admittance rate thru the emergency department, and the busiest aero-medical program (four aircraft with 2,100+ flights annually in Illinois). Our Emergency Department features 57 regular treatment rooms, with two additional major trauma/resuscitation rooms, and a 13-room Emergency Care Unit (ECU), which houses an ED Observation Unit. The new ED is 60,000 square feet (triple the size of the prior ED). The ED includes an in-department general radiology suite for common emergency department radiographic procedures, as well as a dedicated CT scanner. Ultrasound machines (Sonosite) are available in each of the 3 ED pods. A Life Flight helicopter program with adjacent landing area supports our facility. Dedicated emergency medicine resident call room, with sleeping facilities, TV/VCR, and computer, printer, high-speed Internet access, and a wide variety of graphics and word processing software are in place. Peoria, Illinois, sits on the banks of Illinois River. There are diverse recreational opportunities including historical sites, shopping and artistic venues. Whether your interest is golf, biking, rollerblading, shopping, historical adventures, hunting or fishing Peoria has it all, even its own river boat casino.   • Medical Director Emergency Medicine

  • Ottawa, IllinoisOSF Multispecialty Group is seeking an experienced board certified emergency medicine physician to serve as medical director over our emergency department in Ottawa, IL and our stand alone emergency department in Streator, IL. Approximately 25,000 emergency department visits annually can be expected with Midlevel support. OSF HealthCare Saint Elizabeth Medical Center is a 97-bed acute care facility, fully accredited by The Joint Commission.
