Description

Develop, maintain contact and support the needs of past, current and potential reference and outreach laboratory clients. Prepare proposals, assist with interface implementation preparation, coordinate additional supply needs, and trouble-shoot billing issues. Provide technical support for clients and department, assist in special events and promotions, support special projects and initiatives within department upon request. Actively participate in improving customer satisfaction and take leadership in problem resolution. Regularly visit accounts where a portion of the lab testing goes to OSF System Laboratory and upsell current clients. When opportunities arise during out-in-the-field client support and upsell work, help initiate new laboratory business and support Supervisor of Sales and Marketing with support tasks needed to achieve new business. Perform and provide client training for Atlas and EPIC electronic client to laboratory interface systems. Monitor current client OSF test utilization and revenue data for shifts and trends. Participate in process improvement and education opportunities regarding problems with client ordering and specimen preparation.

Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

 

A bachelor’s degree in Clinical/Medical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology is required.

 

Successful completion of the ASCP Board of Certification MLS/MT exam within the first year of employment is also required. 

 

Alternative bachelor’s degrees are acceptable with successful completion of ASCP MLS/MT certification exam prior to employment. 

 

Approximately 1 year on the job experience to gain knowledge of testing procedures, become familiar with SFMC laboratory equipment and systems, as well as attain proficiency in performing laboratory procedures.

 

OR

 

 An associate’s degree as a Clinical/Medical Laboratory Technician is required. 

 

Successful completion of the ASCP Board of Certification MLT exam within the first year of employment is also required. 

 

Alternative associate degrees are acceptable with successful completion of ASCP MLT certification exam prior to employment. 

 

Approximately 1 year on the job experience to gain knowledge of testing procedures, become familiar with laboratory equipment and systems, as well as attain proficiency in performing laboratory procedures.

 

 

Excellent written and verbal communications skills. 

 

Able to interface with all laboratory staff, physicians, and clients. 

 

 

Assessment and analytical skills necessary to explain atypical results and to troubleshoot results, test or order errors, patient demographic information deficiencies and resolve client billing issues. RIM project training, and/or process improvement training and techniques helpful.

 

 

Work together with other Outreach team members to support achievement of territory sales goals, as established.

 

 

Experience or ability to successfully work with Outreach Laboratory staff to independently bring positive resolve to issues. 

 

 

Maintain current certification according to guidelines established by appropriate certifying agency.
