The Lead Surgical Technologist will train the surgical technologists with the functionality associated with complex operating room equipment, instrumentation and ensures assistance to the surgeon and other team members during surgical procedures. The Surgical Technologist Coordinator participates with the surgical team members in planning and implementing complex procedures, in collaboration with the surgeon direction. Primarily performs duties of scrub person throughout the intra-operative phase of care. Recognizes significant patient conditions, notifies the peri-operative registered nurse, charge nurse, anesthesia provider and/or the surgeon. Adheres to a high standard of patient safety principles, along with application of aseptic and sterile techniques. Follows and understands the standards and recommended practices according to the Association of Operating Room Nurses (AORN) and Association of Surgical Technologist (AST).
Graduate of an accredited school of Surgical Technology
2 years experience in the role of Surgical Technology
CPR – American Heart Association (BLS for Health Care Providers)
