Description

The Contract Specialist is primarily responsible for review and execution of agreements/amendments with managed care organizations. The Contract Specialist manages and maintains the Managed Care Department paper and electronic files related to all managed care contracts, including a contract database, and coordinates all signatory processes and communications.   The Contract Specialist effectively manages the operational aspects of OSF Healthcare contracted payer relationships, works closely with department staff and OSF HealthCare Managed Care staff within all business units and assists with problem resolution.

Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Completion of High School or its equivalent and related field and minimum of 3 years related work experience in managed care, health care or insurance.

 

Working knowledge of state and federal laws which govern the managed care field.

 

Working knowledge of managed care and healthcare delivery systems.

 

Proficient in operating a PC and use of MS office software, specifically Microsoft Word, Excel, MS Access or like database and Adobe Pro.

 

Ability to develop professional relationships and interpersonal skills necessary to work well with others.

 

Ability to work on several projects at one time with good organizational skills, judgment and maturity with minimal supervision.

 

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Bachelor’s degree in Business Healthcare or related field

 

Beneficial to have an understanding of managed care and patient accounting systems utilized across OSF business units.
