DescriptionThe essential function is to be responsible for obtaining appropriate insurance benefit information, referrals and authorizations prior to a patient's appointment.
High School diploma or GED required.
Ability to work well under pressure.
Ability to pay attention to detail. Strong knowledge of insurance rulings and guidelines.
Knowledge of insurance reviews.
Basic knowledge of ICD-9 and CPT-4 coding
Good verbal and communication skills.
Good computer and telephone skills.
Exercise’s good judgment and decision making as well as problem solving.
Ability to communicate effectively and clearly.
Previous experience in healthcare setting preferred.
