DescriptionPerforms a variety of business office, reception, clerical and clinical duties in a primary care office practice. Performs related work as required to assure the efficiency of the office including stocking, housekeeping and assisting the clinical staff as needed.
High school diploma or equivalent and successful completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program and completion of a pharmacology and medication administration course.
Minimum completion of clinic medical office assistant internship
CMA Certification and verification by the American Association of Medical Assistants is required. This program may be accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES).
This position requires specific knowledge and training related to the performance of administrative skills, technical / clinical skills and medical procedures commonly performed in a medical practice setting.
Demonstrates good organizational skills in coordinating services with coworkers and/or other departments and facilities.
Responds to stressful situations in a calm and rational manner and cooperates with all to facilitate integration of services.
A physician delegation agreement will be completed and reviewed for each CMA on an annual basis.
1 year clinic experience desired
