Surgical Technologist possesses the expertise in the theory and application of sterile and aseptic
technique and combines the knowledge of human anatomy, surgical procedures, and implementation tools and technologies to facilitate surgical procedures.
Graduate from an accredited Surgical Technology program or Military equivalent required.
Obtains certification within 12 months of employment or maintains current certification (CST), maintains current certification of Basic Life Support.
Provides and directs safe, effective, and culturally-competent care for infant through aging adult
patients who have health needs.
Prepares operating rooms, for surgical procedures, maintains operational readiness of specialized equipment, serves as a scrub nurse during operations, and maintains operating room instruments and equipment following surgery.
Actively participates in quality monitoring and performance improvement activities.
Knowledge of Surgical Technology required.
