Job Description

Description

The Biomedical Equipment Technician II (BMETII) performs scheduled maintenance and repairs of a wide variety of medical devices ranging from basic medical technology to sophisticated systems. Examples of these medical devices are; Networked physiological monitoring systems, defibrillators, Medical Laboratory equipment, various Respiratory Therapy equipment, specialized surgical systems, basic X-ray systems, Ultrasound, etc. The BMET II will also provide the following services; incoming equipment inspections, installation, recall & alert activities and calibration & repair of medical devices.

Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Must have one of the following

Associates degree in Biomedical Equipment Technology, Electronics, or related field

United States Military Biomedical Equipment Service training

Technical certificate from accredited institution for Biomedical Equipment Service, electronics, or other related field

 

3 years of direct medical device service

 

Human Anatomy and Physiology

 

Medical Terminology

 

Advanced Biomedical Equipment Service “vendor” training (Patient monitoring, electrosurgical, infusion)

 

 

Valid driver’s license

 

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Level I X-Ray Training certificate

 

CompTIA A+ Certification

 

CompTIA Network+ Certification

 

CBET or CLES Certification
