Description

The Registered Nurse in the SGDH Contact Center Medication Management division is responsible for receiving new refill and medication authorization requests and accurately initiating these requests. Works collaboratively with patients, caregivers, providers, pharmacies, office staff and insurance companies to ensure that patient care needs are met regarding medication refills and medication pre-authorizations. Provides direct assistance and support to LPNs and MOAs in the Medication Management division of the department. 

Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Graduate of an accredited RN program. OSF Healthcare Nursing Division requires that all employees beginning employment as a Registered Nurse on or after October 1, 2015 are required to earn a BSN degree within 6 years from Date of Hire and proof of enrollment within your first 18 months of employment.

 

 

1 year of related acute or ambulatory clinical experience

 

 

Current state RN license

 

 

Strong computer software and telephone technology skills

 

Accurate typing speed of at least 35 words per minute

 

Excellent interpersonal skills, with open and honest communication with peers, patients, caregivers, providers and all others

 

Proven compassion and respect towards others and values the personal worth and dignity of all who interact with department. Responds to stressful situations in a calm, rational manner and cooperates with all to facilitate integration of services

 

Demonstrated good organizational skills in coordinating services with co-workers and other departments/services

 

Respects the confidentiality rights/regulations of patients/employees/guests.  Discusses confidential information only in appropriate settings and only when necessary.   Demonstrates an understanding of "need to know" with respect to confidential and private information
