The Ambulatory Electronic Medical Record (AEMR) Optimization Specialist-I is responsible for providing education and support to employees on the Epic ambulatory system and plays a critical role in acclimating new employees, introducing process changes to existing employees, developing and administering competency tests, and conducting performance audits to identify and address focused optimization needs. The AEMR Optimization Specialist-I is responsible to build relationships with all physician office personnel within the assigned regions as optimization needs dictate. The AEMR Optimization Specialist-I will collaborate with SuperUsers in order to understand office workflows, processes, and policies.
1 year of experience in the health care industry or delivering education and training
Within 6 months of hire successful completion of the appropriate Epic Proficiency course within time limits dictated by Epic
Must maintain Epic Proficiency status over time
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel programs
Must be comfortable presenting in front of groups
Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision
Deals effectively with ambiguity and stress resulting from conflicting information, goals, and challenging projects.
Associate’s degree in Nursing, Health Care, Business Administration, Computer Science, Education, or other closely related field
3 years of experience in the health care industry or delivering education and training
Experience developing adult education curriculum and teaching plans
Previous work on interdisciplinary projects that include various healthcare providers, administrators, and information system professionals
