The Clinical Support Services Integration Program Manager is responsible for facilitating implementation support for OSF ministry wide strategic projects that integrate technology solutions within clinical care. This role is accountable as a global process owner of clinical optimization projects to organize implementation, evaluate effectiveness while  working with ministry resources for timely evaluation and implementation of supply chain clinical solutions, EMR, clinical equipment selection and technology solutions, in collaboration with leaders within the IT, Clinical Engineering, and Supply Chain functions.

 

Utilizes computer science, information science, and nursing science to analyze, formalize and model how nurses collect and manage data, process data into information and knowledge, and, then available knowledge to decisions and inferences for patient care. Coordinates clinical informatics strategies and organizes and provides guidance to ministry project teams and local process owners for optimization and adaption of technology.  This role is focused on taking key inputs from clinical informatics experts as well as the interdisciplinary team subject matter experts to  1) understand motives for computerized systems, 2) analyze, formalize and model clinical/nursing information processing with clinical/nursing knowledge (components of nursing practice, management, education and research), 3) investigating determinants, conditions, elements, models and processes in order to design and implement as well as test the effectiveness and efficiency of computerized information, communication and network systems for nursing practice and 4) evaluating and creating recommendations, and executing prioritized solutions to improve clinical and nursing practice as well as patient outcomes across OSF.

Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Bachelor’s Degree

 

10 years of experience in leadership of progressively more responsible experiences within a medium to large healthcare organization in order to obtain knowledge of management and the healthcare industry. 

 

5 years of experience in technology project management and performance improvement in a complex setting. 

 

5 years of experience with building, design, and implementation of clinical information systems for healthcare systems through the application of nursing information principles. 

 

2 years of experience in with clinical informatics preferred.

 

Certification in healthcare informatics or executive leadership is required within 2 years of hire.  

 

Ability to assess, evaluate and implement ministry wide programs providing oversight and direction for both ministry and local leaders and staff to ensure achievement of goals.

 

Demonstrated knowledge and skills necessary to coordinate nursing information systems and maintenance. 

 

This requires that the incumbent demonstrates the ability to research information, assimilate knowledge, and coordinate change.

 

Basic knowledge of commonly used software, web technology, and hardware required to recommend and develop processes to meet nursing and patient care needs.

 

Demonstrated leadership competencies, as well as clinical experience, performance improvement skills and the ability to coordinate complex ministry wide interdisciplinary projects that include various health care providers, hospital administrators, and information system professionals.

 

Requires strong interpersonal and problem solving skills to work with nursing staff, managers, physicians, and administration and to recommend and implement information system changes.

 

Strong verbal and written communication skills required to assess nursing needs and work with multiple departments to create effective solutions.

 

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Master’s degree in Nursing Informatics. 

 

Previous work in simulation and research. 

 

Experience with key OSF applications and training and/or experience in nursing informatics.

 

Current State license as a Registered Nurse preferred.
