Registered nurse protects, promotes and restores health and wellness, by practicing at the highest level of licensure; collaborates with providers and multidisciplinary care team members to provide care coordination across the continuum; assesses and supports physical symptoms; provides psychological support to patients, friends, and families; mentors assigned team members; promotes best practices; maintains professional disposition at all times.


This position primarily focuses on anticoagulation patients, therefore experience, education and certification in the management of patients on blood thinners is preferred.  When anticoagulation volume allows, this nurse also assists throughout the clinic, on care teams, in in-baskets, the Nurse Visit Clinic and the prompt care nursing duties.  The ability to prioritize and work independently to be responsive to the various needs of our patients throughout primary and prompt care is critical.  Multi-tasking is a daily expectation.

Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Graduate of an accredited RN program or OSF transfer

 

Current licensure by the State Board of Nursing in appropriate state (Illinois or Michigan)

 

BSN if new to the role (required completion within 6 years of hire date)

 

American Heart Association (BLS for Health Care Providers)

 

Electronic Medical Record and Microsoft application basic proficiency

 

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

 

BSN

 

6 months experience as an RN in a healthcare environment
