DescriptionReporting to the Sterile Processing Supervisor and under general supervision, establishes work priorities, organizes, assigns work to and coordinates activities of personnel engaged in sterile processing, surgery and labor and delivery instrumentation. Reviews completed work to ensure work is carried out in accordance with established policies and procedures. Serves as a liaison working with Surgery, Labor and Delivery and various other departments using Sterile Processing services. Trains staff for special handling and care of instruments for Sterile Processing Department, Labor and Delivery, Surgery, and special areas such as clinics and doctor's offices. Coordinates instrument repairs, maintenance and refurbishing through third party vendor ensuring instrumentation meets all standards and requirements for use.
High School Diploma or equivalent
Sterile Processing experience
Certification of Central Service Technician within 15 months
Basic analytical skills in order to maintain records and interpersonal skills necessary in order to train, explain procedures, and assign work to mission partners and provide assistance in response to problems.
