Delivers prescriptions to patient rooms. Rounds with patients to promote the "Meds to Beds" program.
Approximately three months on the job experience necessary in order to learn and develop proficiencies in packaging methods, patient billing procedures and Medical Center policies and procedures.
Knowledge of pharmaceutical and medical terminology helpful.
Ability to type at acceptable levels of speed and accuracy in order to prepare medication labels at a level normally acquired through completion of one to three months course work in touch-typing which can be obtained in high school.
Will be required to do a substantial amount of walking from the Pharmacy to the Medical Center when delivering medications to the patients.
Interpersonal skills necessary in order to communicate effectively with various Medical Center personnel when gathering and exchanging factual pharmaceutical information.
Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail for up to seventy-five percent of work time when packaging medications, maintaining records and the like.
