Description

The Strategic Philanthropy Officer communicates directly and consistently with leadership within their assigned area of focus, in addition to leadership within OSF HealthCare Ministry, to implement a comprehensive development strategy. The Strategic Philanthropy Officer will be engaged in all relevant leadership opportunities, as well as responsible for the philanthropic engagement of donors, ambassadors and volunteers. Collaborates with Foundation team members and provides administrative oversight and direction to the overall fund development objectives of the Foundation. Works with leadership within the Foundation and OSF Healthcare to develop and oversee business plans, programs and methods designed to assess short- and long-term goals for fundraising and other philanthropic efforts.

Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Bachelor’s degree in communications, hospital administration, business administration, or other closely related field.

 

 

5 years of progressively more responsible related work experience to understand advanced fundraising techniques and concepts and to be able to develop sources of contributions, as well as, make persuasive presentations to potential donors.

 

 

Knowledge of fund development, grant proposal preparation, basic accounting and statistics in order to effectively evaluate and develop an overall fund development philosophy, objectives, and goals.

 

 

Advanced interpersonal skills necessary in order to effectively represent OSF Healthcare and be persuasive with a variety of influential internal and external contacts when eliciting cooperation and support.

 

Advanced analytical skills necessary to determine effective fund development strategies, identifying potential sources of contributions, and develop short- and long-term development goals and objectives.  

 

 

Must be a strong writer; have strong communication skills, both written and oral; must be a good listener.

 

 

Demonstrated proficiency with applicable computer software systems such as Microsoft Office Suite, email communications and donor management systems.
