Description

The Research Intake Coordinator (RIC) is pivotal to coordinating day-to-day Research Administration operational flow -- specifically related to the receipt/review of research proposals & related regulatory & contractual documents submitted to OSF for facility approval. The RIC ensures that each new research proposal has a complete and accurate application packet. The RIC monitors, documents, and communicates review progress and results between Research Administration and prospective investigators – serving as a gatekeeper. Using exceptional interpersonal, critical thinking and analytical skills the RIC will demonstrate excellent customer service to prospective investigators and other stakeholders through articulate, well-informed, and timely communication. As an integral member of the Research Administration Team, the RIC will contribute to continuous quality improvement of Research Administration timelines, operational flows, and internal/external communications. The RIC serves as a liaison between the Research Administration team and the operational research teams (those submitting for approval) throughout Ministry & the communities OSF serves, cultivating positive experiences and relationships to those our department serves.

Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Must have one of the following:

Bachelor’s degree in Business or Healthcare Administration, Research, Biological Services, or related field

4 years’ experience in healthcare administrative role and/or IRB administrative role

 

 

2 years of experience in a healthcare setting.

 

 

Effective communication skills (e.g., oral communication, writing ) with various stakeholders (investigators, administrators, and peers)

 

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook and web-based programs (use of browsers and conducting searches.)

 

 

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Master’s degree in one of the above-listed disciplines.

 

Research Certification (e.g. SoCra, ACRP, HCCA)

 

Experience in conducting and/or overseeing human subject research (e.g., terminology, methodology, ethics and compliance)

 

Familiarity with research administration/clinical trial management system, IRB, and/or electronic document handling programs (e.g. IRBNet, IRBManager, Cayuse)
