Under general supervision, in accordance with physician orders, and in compliance with the Illinois Nurse Practice Act, assesses, plans, implements and evaluates nursing care provided to assigned patients. Serves as patient advocate.
Licensed as a Registered Nurse with the State of Illinois or eligible for licensure. BSN or BSN within 6 years of hire and enrolled wtihin 18 months (signed agreement required)
Working knowledge of a clinical on-line system and Microsoft Office programs.
A high level of analytical skills necessary in order to effectively utilize the nursing process.
Substantial interpersonal skills required in order to instruct and comfort patients and their families and maintain effective contacts with a variety of medical center personnel and staff.
Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail when performing basic patient care tasks.
Practices Universal Blood and Body Fluid precautions, appropriately handles hazardous materials and follows OSHA regulations per approved policies and procedures.
