Description

The Manager, Patient Accounts, provides administrative and operational management of revenue cycle functions. Works with internal and external customers to ensure efficient and effective management of the revenue cycle processes and accounts receivable. Manages the daily operations including all administrative and patient financial activities to ensure high quality health care financial services that comply with billing and coding requirements. Works cooperatively with team members to generate optimal revenue for OSF HealthCare. Develops department initiatives that focus on employee engagement, process improvement, and patient satisfaction. Serves as a resource and facilitates collaboration between team members and other healthcare disciplines throughout OSF and within the healthcare community.

 

Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Must have one of the following:

 

Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, healthcare management or other related field with three years experience in an office clerical setting or customer service environment 

or

4 years in revenue cycle or medical office setting plus three years experience in an office clerical setting or customer service environment

 

 

 

1 year direct experience in a healthcare revenue cycle or medical setting

 

 

Required to complete all revenue cycle training and certification within 12 months

 

 

Demonstrated expertise in at least one of the Revenue Cycle functions; Billing, Account Receivable Follow-up, Payment Discrepancy, Credits, Self-Pay Processing, Cash Posting and Customer Service.  Additionally, a general knowledge of the overall Revenue Cycle components

 

Demonstrated working knowledge of Microsoft office products, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word

 

 

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Master’s degree in finance, accounting, healthcare management or other related field

 

 

Leadership experience

 

 

Nationally recognized Revenue Cycle certification (NAHAM, AAHAM, HFMA)
