Description

Under the direction of a Radiologist and the Manager of Medical Imaging, perform a variety of technical procedures including computed tomography exams that may require independent judgment, with ingenuity and initiative to apply prescribed ionizing radiation for radiologic diagnosis. Demonstrates knowledge of proper imaging technique (i.e. positioning, technical factors) in special populations such as children, adults, elderly and patients in debilitating conditions. Provides care for patients and family/significant others across the lifespan based on physical, psychological, educational, safety and related criteria appropriate to the age of patients served in assigned service area.

Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

 

High school graduate or equivalent. 

 

Satisfactory completion of formal radiologic technology training in an AMA approved school and meets the requirement for registry by the ARRT.

 

Current IEMA license in Radiography and must be ARRT registered within 160 days of hire or termination will occur. 

 

Must be ARRT Registered with Advanced level CT certification by January 1, 2018.

 

 

Current Illinois Emergency Management Agency (IEMA) license. 

 

ARRT license with Advanced level certification in CT preferred.

 

Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS CPR certification preferred.

 

 

Previous Diagnostic Radiology and Computed Tomography experience preferred.

 

 

Proficient in performance of Computed Tomography (CT) exams and diagnostic xray exams. 

 

Understanding of the operation of CT equipment and diagnostic equipment to obtain diagnostic images for interpretation. 

 

Ability to operate office machinery (computers, copiers, calculators, fax, etc.)
