The OSF Registered Nurse (RN) Systemwide Float Pool provides the highest level of expert Registered Nurses to care for patients throughout the OSF Healthcare System. The Registered Nurse is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating nursing care provided to patients’ within their nursing specialty. The Regional Float Pool RN must be highly knowledgeable and possess strong nursing skills necessary to provide excellent patient care that is appropriate to the ages of the patients served within their RN specialty. Registered Nurses at OSF HealthCare are licensed professionals empowered to participate in an interdisciplinary approach to meet the expectations of those we serve.
Work requires a professional level of knowledge of nursing practice and theory at a level that generally can be acquired by completion and graduation from an accredited School of Nursing.
Work requires a minimum of two years’ current experience as a registered nurse and one year in an acute healthcare setting within the specialty hired. Requires completion of professional orientation and clinical orientation.
Current IL State license as a Registered Nurse required.
Certified in AHA Healthcare Provider BLS
Mandatory certifications as applicable to area
Required to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide patient care appropriate to the age of the patients served on their assigned unit(s). This requires that the incumbent demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development as well as the physical, emotional and psycho-social needs of the patient population served.
The Clinical Resource Team nurse must be willing and able to work in at least 3 OSF facilities as needed.
Work requires the interpersonal skills necessary to comfort patients, family members and/or significant others; to communicate effectively and concisely with other patient care providers; and to instruct patients, family members and/or significant others in self-care/home care procedures.
Work requires analytical ability necessary to assess patients' physical, psychological and social needs, develops individualized patient care plans, and evaluate patients' responses to medical and nursing interventions.
