Description
The Safety Companion provides continuous observation and surveillance of multiple patients at multiple sites. The Safety Companion will be off site and will verbally redirect the patient from engaging in at-risk behaviors; summon the nursing staff if the patient requires assistance; and will remain knowledgeable and supportive of patient and institutional confidentiality and related hospital policies.
Qualifications
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or GED
Demonstrated ability to follow detailed written and oral instructions.
Efficiency in multitasking, with the ability to prioritize simultaneous situations.
Demonstrated excellent telephone etiquette, with the ability to communicate compassionately and professionally with patients, using microphone and headset.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
1 year direct patient care experience such as a sitter, nursing assistant, nursing student, or monitor technician.
Demonstrated understanding and proficiency of the use of the EPIC Telesitter Software.
