Description
According to established policies and procedures, performs secretarial duties including typing non-routine correspondence, tables and forms. Drafts routine memos and recurring reports, and proofreads and edits all materials for accuracy and clarity. Abstracts data and enters in computerized data bases. Uses discretion and judgment when screening visitors and telephone calls, editing materials and organizing own workload to meet established priorities.
Qualifications
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma/GED.
Work requires ability to effectively read and write in order to proof and edit non routine correspondence, tables, and forms, for punctuation, spelling, grammar and typographical errors as well as draft routine correspondence, perform
basic arithmetic calculations when ordering supplies.
Work requires 6 months to 1 year work experience in an office/support service role, necessary to develop mastery of the required office and interpersonal skills.
Ability to type at least 60 wpm with minimal errors.
Basic proficiency with MS Office: including Word, Excel, PPT, and Outlook.
Analytical skills necessary in order to handle non-routine, moderately complex administra¬tive details.
Gather and summarize data for reports, find solutions to various administrative problems and support and/or participate in project work, and effectively prioritize work.
Work requires the interpersonal skills to exchange information with and deal diplomatically with a variety of internal and external callers and visitors, including Medical Center management staff.
Ability to use, troubleshoot, and maintain office equipment such as computers, printers, faxes, and scanners.
