Description

The UI/UX Designer (Designer) for Jump Simulation consults internally with the departments, divisions, and committees across the Ministry looking to innovate the delivery of OSF HealthCare’s care services, engagement of patient communities, and solutions for educational services. The Designer uses the human-centered and participatory methods of "Design Thinking" to identify unmet patient, provider, and institutional needs and creates new service concepts or business strategies to better meet those needs. Methods include: conducting observational research, interviews, and workshops; undertaking internal and external research activities generating conceptual frameworks; formulating insights related to the synthesis of the research data; and communicating findings and concepts to project sponsors in a clear and compelling visual manner. The Designer must also demonstrate proficiency in visual design in order to develop storyboards and tappable prototypes that reflect the service concepts or business strategies for the specific user audience(s). They will be responsible for supplying art assets to software programmers in order to translate prototypes into functional applications.

Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Bachelor’s degree in user-interface/user-experience design, human centered, instructional or graphic design, or other related field.

 

1 year of previous experience designing mobile and/or desktop applications for higher education or science-based markets, including wireframe creation, visual design, mock-up creation, and design for interactive integration.

  

Adobe XD, Adobe Creative Cloud, Mac & PC platforms, app development, MS Office

 

Demonstrated expertise and a deep understanding of user-design/user-interface (UI-UX), digital communication, mobile-application design, and instructional design (including storyboarding).

 

Demonstrated knowledge of "Design Thinking" and/or design research tools and methods.

 

  

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Master’s degree in UI/UX development, human centered design, or other related field.

 

2 years of experience in mobile app development (iOS & Android), Unity 3D with samples of work available

 

Experience with implementing visual designs within Unity, Xcode, or Android Studio.
