Description

The Phlebotomist, under the supervision of the Laboratory Manager, is primarily responsible for phlebotomy procedures, including blood samples by venipuncture, skin puncture, and blood culture collections. The Phlebotomist also is responsible for receiving specimens and delivering them to the appropriate departments, cleaning laboratory equipment, stocking blood draw supplies, and assisting the technologists.

Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

 

High school diploma or GED

 

3 months experience as a phlebotomist or completion of an accredited phlebotomy course

 

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

 

ASCP certification in phlebotomy

 

PBT (ASCP) certification

 

6 months experience as a phlebotomist
