DescriptionUnder general direction of a Registered Respiratory Therapist and physician in accordance with established procedures, provides pulmonary care services designed to prevent, stabilize or remedy patient respiratory problems. Administers prescribed doses of aerosolized medications, delivers oxygen and other therapeutic gases, assists in providing ventilatory support and assists in emergency care during life threatening situations. Checks equipment regularly for proper functioning and records on-line data obtained during therapy.
Graduate with certificate of completion of an AMA accredited program in Respiratory Care.
Certified as a Certified Respiratory Therapist with the National Board of Respiratory Therapy.
Licensed with the State of Illinois as a Respiratory Care Practitioner.
CPR, ACLS and PALS certification.
Neonatal Support certification.
Demonstrates clinical competency with patient care.
Demonstrates goal ability to communicate in written and verbal fashion, promoting a team approach to patient care.
Demonstrates professional development through continuing education activities.
