Description

The Emergency Medical Services Education Specialist evaluates and assists in revising all initial training, in-services and continuing education programs for pre-hospital providers in the OSF HealthCare EMS System. Assists with the maintenance of quality management guidelines. Serves as a liaison between OSF HealthCare and other health care agencies and hospitals.

Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

 

High School diploma or G.E.D is required.

 

A level of knowledge gained through either a) the completion of an EMT-Intermediate or EMT-Paramedic certification with 2 years of field experience and 2 years’ experience training EMT-Bs or EMT-Is to gain understanding of EMT procedures and education methods or b) a current state of Illinois license as a Registered Nurse with a minimum of 5 years of clinical experience in Emergent and/or Critical Care is required.

 

Basic computer knowledge required.

 

 

Valid driver’s license is required. 

 

Illinois EMT-I, EMT-P or Registered Nurse with a current Illinois License is required.

 

CPR certification required.

 

 

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

 

ACLS, ITLS, and PALS or PEPP certification is preferred.

 

Instructor status in CPR, ACLS, ITLS, and PALS or PEPP preferred.

 

Illinois Lead Instructor preferred
