Description

The Ambulatory Health Information Management Services (HIMS) Department is a support group for the OSF Multi-Specialty Group. The Ambulatory Health Information Management Trainer educates HIMS support staff on how to sort, file, enter discrete medical information, and scan non-OSF medical records into the Epic Electronic Medical Record System. The Ambulatory Health Information Management Trainer will work in a team-based environment, but also work independently.

Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

 

High school diploma or GED

 

 

3 years of computer experience, including Excel and other Microsoft applications, in a professional or educational setting and 2 years of training experience in small and large group settings

 

 

Typing skills at a professional level

 

Positive communication and interpersonal skills

 

Ability to be flexible in an ever-changing department

 

Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, critical thinking skills, data entry, proofreading, and accuracy

 

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

 

1 year of healthcare experience

 

 

Knowledge of Medical & Surgical Terminology, as well as a working knowledge of CPT/ICD-10 Coding

 

Knowledge of HIPAA and medical record laws
