The Media Relations Coordinator coordinates proactive media placement to meet team goals. In addition, the Media Relations Coordinator also crafts reactive messaging, builds and maintains respectful and professional relationships with reporters, and assists with crisis communications – both internally and in the public eye.
The Media Relations Coordinator works directly with media. In addition, the Media Relations Coordinator serves as the media relations expert on marketing teams as assigned, with accountability to Strategic Marketing Directors leading various teams.
Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Journalism, Communications, or related field required.
5+ years of experience in public relations, communications, or a related field.
Requires expert knowledge of communications and public relations especially as they relate to health care.
Proficient in the use of approved software including but not limited to: Microsoft Office suite, including PowerPoint, Word and Excel.
Membership in professional organizations is encouraged.
Highly dependable, personable and responsible, with excellent organizational, written and oral communications skills.
Must be able to address multiple priorities and communicate with a diverse group of marketing colleagues and partners.
Must be able to work flexible hours.
