The communications specialist is responsible for monitoring EMS communications, schedules and prioritizes emergency services in response to requests from the general public, government agencies and regional hospitals. The Medical Communication Specialist must be able to function independently, be highly motivated, and have excellent interpersonal communication skills to provide customer service. The Communication Specialist executes most of his/her job under variable conditions and environments utilizing assessment skills and written protocols.
High School education or equivalent.
Current EMD License or obtain within 6 months of hire into the position, Current Healthcare Provider CPR (completed prior to employment or during house orientation).
