Description

Assists in overseeing and directing a collaborative multi-disciplinary team delivering peri-operative robotic surgery care.  Oversees/conducts group and family support and education for robotic surgery patients.  Responsible for the development/revision of program policies, procedures and educational materials.  Ensures compliance with all regulatory agency requirements.  Maximizes opportunities for securement of revenues by serving as insurance liaison/utilization reviewer for all patients.  Meets with Director, Medical Director, and other caregivers to maintain overall functioning of the Robotic Program.  Functions as an epicenter liaison to visiting surgeons and robotic technical experts to enhance the image and establish a robotic Center of Excellence. 

 

Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Graduation from an accredited Surgical Technician Program

 

Approximately 3 years of progressively more responsible related work experience in the operating room.

 

Surgical terminology, equipment, materials, and policies/procedures (sterile protocol/OR attire), and fundamental methods relating to surgery.

 

Strong communication and public speaking skills in order to communicate effectively with patients, families, medical staff and the community. 

 

Ability to provide effective leadership and develop and maintain a variety of internal and external cooperative working relationships, including facilitating visiting surgeons and staff related to development of epicenter status in field of robotics.

 

Analytical skills necessary in order to assist with the gathering and interpretation of quantitative and qualitative data and is proactive in identifying barriers to increasing robotic utilization, and able to use “business strategy” to add volume and utilization
