Reports directly to the Coordinator of Student Accounts & Business Services and indirectly to the Assistant Dean, Support Services. Under the general direction and according to established policies and procedures, provides a high level of support to the Coordinator of Student Accounts & Business Services in the processing of student accounts and business office services (including student account billing, 3rd party billing, receivables, collections, deposits, refunds, cashiering operations, IRS 1098T and non-tuition institutional receipts/deposits) Participates in implementing established policies and procedures for processing student accounts which comply with Federal, State and Institutional requirements. Works with students and/or parents to process payment agreements. Prepares documentation for institutional/governmental agency questionnaires. Duties require an understanding of Federal, State and Institutional policies in order to gather data, prepare reports, answer correspondence and conduct projects. Requires employee to act independently and use judgment and discretion in handling highly sensitive and confidential communications and documents.
Work requires knowledge of general bookkeeping principles in order to prepare required reports and maintain Student Account records at a level generally acquired through completion of an associate degree in business or other closely related field.
Work requires 6 month related work experience, preferable in an education setting, necessary in order to gain knowledge of financial aid and student accounting processing systems.
Work requires accountability, analytical and organizational skills necessary in order to perform verification of data, calculating and posting of student financial assistance/accounts.
Work requires interpersonal and communication skills for appropriate working relationships with a variety of students College personnel requiring courtesy and tact.
