Job Description

Description

Collaborates with the department supervisor for day to day operations including staffing to ensure services meet established quality, productivity standards and takes corrective action as necessary. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide patient care.  Assists with development, implementation and ensures adherence to policies and procedures in order to ensure compliance with Medical Center and third party requirements for confidential patient information. Is responsible for the proper functioning of all imaging equipment and protective devices used in the cardiac cath lab.

 

Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

 

General knowledge of radiology/medical imaging operations and therapeutic principles and procedures, and equipment operation at a level normally acquired through completion of 2 years training at an approved school of radiologic technology.

 

Registered with the ARRT and licensed by the Illinois Emergency Management Agency.

 

Approximately 3 to 4 years progressively more responsible related work experience necessary to understand radiology/medical imaging policies, procedures and equipment maintenance and to become familiar with Medical Center and department quality and productivity measures, and regulatory agency standards and safety regulations.

 

 

Interpersonal skills necessary in order to provide effective direction for assigned responsibilities, prepare and review various reports and analysis and develop and maintain cooperative working relationships with Medical Center mission partners and physicians.

 

 

Analytical skills necessary in order to coordinate diagnostic radiology/medical imaging operations, ensure efficient training programs for personnel, develop and implement quality and productivity standards, and respond effectively to equipment malfunctions or employee safety concerns.

 

 

Proficient in the use of computers and working knowledge of computer networks and applications.

 

 

Prioritizes and organize daily work load while paying close attention to detail.

 

 

Requires BLS certification
