Job Description


Reports to the Supply Chain Site Director and is responsible for directing and coordinating operational activities for the division including but not limited to purchasing, material/supply distribution, linen distribution, mail processing and any others that are assigned to the Supply Chain Division. In doing so, assures accuracy and adequate condition of shipments, ensures inventory levels compare favorably with shipping and receiving levels, communicates with vendors, schedules and assigns work, resolves conflicts, and prepares reports and billings. Also responsible for the materials resource needs of these departments. Monitors assigned budgets to meet established goals of department. Participates in the development of the departmental budget, business plan and quality assurance plan.




  • Knowledge of Materials Management computer systems/programs and processes such as inventory control, basic accounting, receiving/distribution, purchasing as well as the ability to perform budgeting functions at a level normally acquired through completion of a bachelors degree in business, hospital administration, or other related field, or through 3 5 years of progressively more responsible related work experience in a related field.
  • Proven strong interpersonal skills necessary in order to communicate effectively with vendors and a variety of medical center personnel in gathering and exchanging information, and in order to lead and direct subordinate personnel.
  • Proven leadership skills in organization, team building, training, and problem solving are required.
  • Analytical skills necessary in order to recommend operating procedures, propose departmental budgets, develop departmental goals and objectives, monitor inventory control, and estimate personnel and supply needs.
  • Independent judgment is required to prioritize tasks and projects.
  • Flexibility and willingness to adapt to evolving job roles within the constantly changing work environment of the Medical Center is required.
