Description

Performs various duties such as correspondence, filing, data entry, answering telephone, and other duties related to admissions and academic records for the nursing programs at the College of Nursing. Provides clerical and general office assistance to visitors, callers, students, faculty, and staff; schedule rooms for both internal and external groups. Operates standard office machines and equipment such as personal computer, word processors, and photocopiers. Uses discretion and judgment when screening phone calls, handling confidential information, and prioritizing work. Conducts tours of the College and Medical Center and participates in other recruitment activities as needed.

Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

 

High school graduate or GED.

 

3 years clerical or office experience.

 

Proficient in the use of Micro Word, Excel, Assess, and Power Point. 

 

Ability to accurately type; organize and coordinate multiple work activities with minimal supervision, use of initiative and independent judgment within procedural and supervisory guidelines, maintain confidentiality, and communicate effectively orally and in writing

 

Analytical skills necessary to handle non-routine, moderately complex administrative details, including but not limited to editing routine drafts, and collecting data for projects.

 

Compile statistical data accurately.

 

Effective interpersonal and communication skills and knowledge of proper English usage required.

 

Interest and ability to learn admission and progression policies and activities of admission and registrar office.

 

 

 

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Experience in a college or university admission office
