Job Description


Under direct supervision, the Report Developer analyzes, develops, codes, tests, implements, maintains, optimizes, and documents report solutions.  Assists with the management of customer expectations and customer interactions and participates in team quality management initiatives.

FOCUS: This Report Developer role is responsible for clinical reporting. 

• Areas of focus include one or more of the following: Ambulatory, Inpatient, Home Care, and Diagnostic

• The clinical development team is certified in Epic’s reporting database (Clarity), Reporting Workbench, and Radar. These certifications allow enhanced development and support on Epic reporting tools.

• Other applications as assigned

• Basic knowledge of SQL





Knowledge of healthcare information technology at a level normally acquired through completion of a Associate's degree with concentration in Business Administration, Computer Science, Healthcare, or other closely related field in order to understand information technology principles.

Basic knowledge of SQL.


Basic knowledge of Crystal Reports, SAP Business Objects (Universe Design, Crystal Reports, WebI, Explorer, Lumira), MS Office (Excel with attention to Pivot tables, Slicers, etc.), and application reporting.


Must completed Epic certification(s) required for the position within 18 months of hire.


Epic certification(s) could be obtained through internally provided training.


Epic certification(s) must be maintained.


Minimum 1 year experience with using information technology (Healthcare industry preferred).


Business Knowledge preferred in area of focus.


Experience with key Ministry applications preferred.


Equivalent combination of experience, education, and training will be considered


Ability to effectively communicate to technical and non-technical audiences.


Ability to assist in the development of detailed specifications for basic reporting solutions.


Ability to participate in the facilitation and documentation of report design sessions.


Requires analytical and conceptual skills to address basic operational and system related problems to gather and interpret financial and clinical data, and to prepare clear, concise reports.


Ability to evaluate, test, and troubleshoot basic report issues.


Ability to complete basic report development from detailed specifications.


Ability to test and document basic report solutions.


Basic knowledge of network, server, and databases as it applies to reporting.


Ability to participate in the facilitation of basic projects from requirements gathering, scoping, obtaining buy-in from other departments/business units, planning, and implementing basic reporting solutions.
