Description

The Speech Therapist assists patients in the restoration or development of swallowing, speech and communication functions through evaluation and treatment.

For this position, preferred candidates will have related advanced feeding experience within pediatric acute care hospitals including patients with high medical complexities and acuity. Highly desired experience would include care within NICU/Small Baby where rehabilitation therapists works closely within a multidisciplinary medical provider team.

Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Master’s degree in Speech Language Pathology

 

 

Demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide patient care appropriate to the population served.

 

Strong written, oral and interpersonal skills work well with others and to communicate effectively with patients, families, and other treatment team members when gathering and exchanging patient condition information.

 

Analytical ability to administer and evaluate standardized speech/language tests, conduct swallowing evaluations, evaluate patients' capabilities, develop treatment plans and monitor patients' progress.

 

Excellent computer skills and the ability to process detailed information in an accurate manner.

 

 

Respective state license and clinical certification, Clinical Certificate of Competence (CCC), by the American Speech Language Hearing Association (ASHA), unless completing Clinical Fellowship Year.

 

American Heart BLS

 

Valid state driver’s license, as verified through the respective state Department of Motor vehicles driving record abstract.

 

 

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Previous experience as Speech Pathologist
