The Vice President Quality and Safety is responsible for leading the operations of the Ministry-wide structure that facilitates our drive to superior clinical outcomes throughout the Ministry.  The leader is responsible for the operations of the structure that supports the implementation and execution of Quality, Safety, Infection Prevention, Regulatory, clinical processes and other Ministry Clinical Strategies.

This leader will oversee the sustainment of processes and the implementation of improvements necessary to achieve high reliability. This individual will have operational oversight of the entity Quality and Safety leadership in order to drive the Clinical Excellence vision and strategy, support implementation of ministry clinical strategies, and to gather feedback for consideration for refinement of Ministry clinical processes and goals. Works in the Clinical Excellence Center of Expertise and works collaboratively with the Clinical Excellence team, as well as Risk Management and Healthcare Analytics, to assist and engage caregivers and leadership across the OSF ministry with ensuring Mission Partners have the tools and skills needed to achieve zero harm.

Working with other Ministry, Regional and Facility clinical leadership, the Vice President of Quality and Safety is responsible for the execution of Quality/Safety and other clinical excellence strategies.  This individual will have strategic oversight to lead in a matrix reporting relationship of the Regional Directors of Quality and Safety.

Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Bachelor’s Degree in Clinical Field

 

Current licensure in IL within the candidate’s clinical area of expertise

 

Certification (CPHQ or CPPS) required within 1 year of hire

 

7-10 years in healthcare quality and safety or in clinical operations or performance improvement leadership with progressively increasing level of responsibility

 

Experience in the management of serious safety events and leading clinical improvement.

 

 

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

 

CPHQ or CPPS certification

 

Master’s Degree

 

Formal training in performance improvement
