Description

Under general supervision, the Report Developer analyzes, develops, codes, tests, implements, maintains, optimizes, and documents report solutions.  Assists with the management of customer expectations and customer interactions and participates in team quality management initiatives. Guides and advises less-experienced Report Developers.

 

FOCUS: This Report Developer role is responsible for revenue cycle reporting.

• Areas of focus include one or more of the following: Professional and Hospital Billing

• The revenue cycle development team is certified in Epic’s reporting database (Clarity), Reporting Workbench, and Radar. These certifications allow enhanced development and support on Epic reporting tools.

• Other applications as assigned

• Working knowledge of SQL typically shown through the development of stored procedures, tables, views, SSIS packages, etc.

 

• Working knowledge of Crystal Reports, SAP Business Objects (Universe Design, Crystal Reports, WebI,  Explorer, Lumira), MS Office ( Excel with attention to Pivot tables, Slicers, etc.)

Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Knowledge of healthcare information technology at a level normally acquired through completion of a Bachelor’s degree with concentration in Business Administration, Computer Science, Healthcare, or other closely related field in order to understand information technology principles.

 

At least 2 certifications completed in area of discipline within 18 months of hire.

 

Certifications could be obtained through internally provided training.

 

Certifications must be maintained.

 

Minimum of 2 years' experience using information technology (Healthcare industry preferred).

 

Business knowledge in area of focus required.

 

Experience with key Ministry applications preferred.

 

Equivalent combination of experience, education, and training will be considered

                                                                                       

Ability to effectively communicate to technical and non-technical audiences.

 

Ability to develop detailed specifications for moderately complex reporting solutions.

 

Ability to facilitate and document report design sessions.

 

Requires analytical and conceptual skills to address moderately complex operational and system related problems to gather and interpret financial and clinical data, and to prepare clear, concise reports.

 

Ability to evaluate, tests, and troubleshoot moderately complex report issues.

 

Ability to complete moderately complex report development from specifications.

 

 Ability to test and document moderately complex report solutions independently.

 

Ability to create simple batch jobs to extract data for outside vendors using EDI.

 

Working knowledge of network, server, and databases as it applies to reporting.

 

Ability to facilitate projects from requirements gathering, scoping, obtaining buy-in from other departments/business units, planning, and implementing reporting solutions.
