The psychotherapist serves patients within OSF Saint Francis Medical Center of all ages who are admitted to the Emergency Department or the Medical Center and are experiencing acute psychiatric problems, such as suicidality and homicidally or self harming behaviors, as well as other psychiatric symptoms which could result in the diagnosis of mood disorders, anxiety disorders, thought disorders and other disorders as defined in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-5). Provides patient assessment and diagnosis, crisis intervention and stabilization, psychiatric consultation and coordination/collaboration with on-call psychiatrist(s) and/or attending physicians, counseling services, and assures appropriate referrals, resources and continuum of care through follow up visits for in-house patients as appropriate.
Sign on Bonus- $3,000 with 2 year work commitment.
Shift differential in addition to base pay.
Master’s Degree in counseling or social work
Minimum of three years of Psychotherapist experience required
Current state of Illinois licensure as a LCPC or LCSW
Ability to independently diagnose and assess, accurately complying with criteria from the DSM-5.
Interpersonal skills in order to engage, coach, and mentor others, facilitate/organize/direct the work of others and to maintain positive relationships among participants, leadership, ministry/facility staff and internal/external stakeholders.
Proven skills in written/verbal communications, problem solving, independent problem solving, decision making abilities, creativity, prioritization/delegation and necessary computer-related skill.
Working knowledge of trauma, including effects of trauma, types of trauma, key elements of working with trauma and evidence-based treatment approaches.
CPR certification is recommended.
