Job Description

Description

According to established procedures, the concierge greets family members and visitors while they are entering the medical center, traveling throughout the facility or waiting in department or unit. Proactively assists patients and visitors traveling throughout the medical center. Acts as a liaison between clinical teams and patients/visitors to assure all communication and needs are addressed. Maintains a strong working relationship and understanding of clinical processes in order to fully understand and monitor patient/family processes and experience. Assists visitors in locating any destination area of the medical center including, but not limited to, patient rooms, physicians, admitting areas, procedural areas, and medical center amenities. Assists in guiding visitors to other OSF facilities, area accommodations, area amenities, and gives local area directions. Enacts orientation to patients and families upon arrival to assigned units of the Medical Center. Supplies patients and visitors credentialed access to secured units.

Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

 

1 year of direct customer service or hospitality experience

 

Must be able to demonstrate high deductive reasoning skills necessary to provide assistance with guests

 

Excellent oral and written communication skills required in order to communicate clearly and concisely

 

Ability to interpret, evaluate and resolve patient/family/customer service issues

 

Requires time and conflict management skills

 

Must be able to multitask in a fast paced environment.

 

Prioritize and complete duties in a timely and organized manner

 

Must be able to accept and adapt to change

 

Basic understanding of computers and email communication

 

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Experience working with an electronic medical system for example, EPIC

 

 

Conflict resolution
