Reporting to the Director of Laboratory Services, is responsible for managing the operations of the assigned section(s) ensuring the provision of high quality services in accordance with the Medical Center and regulatory requirement. Responsible for assisting in the development, implementation and administration of new programs and services in order to achieve fiscal year business plans. Manages financial, capital and human resources to ensure services meet established quality and productivity standards, and takes corrective action when necessary.
A bachelor’s degree in Clinical Laboratory Science/Medical Technology is required; successful completion of the ASCP or NCA registry exam within 1 year of employment is also required. Alternate bachelor’s degree acceptable with successful completion of ASCP MT registration exam or NCA CLS certification exam prior to employment.
Four years’ experience as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist/Medical Technologist.
Certification as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist NCA) or Medical Technologist (ASCP).
A master’s degree in healthcare administration, business administration or clinical laboratory science.
Specialty certification (NCA or ASCP) in managed section(s).
