The MRI Technologist cares for patients while operating equipment to produce high quality images for radiologist interpretation. Responsibility includes EMR/PACS navigation, general patient care, positioning patients, providing procedure information and executing proper imaging protocol/technique for all examinations. Complies with all regulatory requirements in providing safe and appropriate care.
Graduate from Accredited school of Radiologic Technology or MRI.
American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT(R)) registered.
Minimum of 6 months on-the-job training and experience in MRI procedures or completion of a formal MRI program with associated certificate or degree.
Advanced certification in MRI 1 year after hire if not currently registered.
Maintains Basic Life support certification.
Interpersonal skills necessary to interact effectively with patients who may be under physical and/or emotional stress in order to gather and exchange routine patient information with peers, nursing, radiologist and provider.
2 years radiography experience.
1 year MRI experience.
