Job Description


The Senior Analyst Training leads peer teams in translating data into actionable information by ensuring that robust training and education is delivered which assists leadership with decision making for operational and strategic areas.  These areas include improved clinical outcomes, financial performance, productivity improvement, cost optimization, staffing, strategic market analysis, investment analysis, space or supply utilization, and system integration.  The Senior Analyst Training is accountable for developing the strategy, gap assessment, and planning and implementing the training and promotion plan for all business intelligence and analytic tools. The Senior Analyst Training is responsible for timely, innovative analysis and interpretation, building business intelligence applications and presenting recommendations to management.  Works with leadership throughout the Ministry to analyze and train on tools that provide visibility into operational and strategic performance to identify gaps, establish targets and devise the most efficient and effective methods for measuring and displaying performance.  Examples of these tools include: Dashboards, Explorers, Intake Tools, Report Inventory, Portals and reports delivered through SharePoint Technology, QlikView, Excel, etc., utilized across the OSF Ministry.   The Senior Analyst Training helps OSF improve its healthcare delivery system by using analytical tools and problem solving techniques to transform data, analyze the results, synthesize solutions, and support decision-making.




Bachelor’s degree in education, marketing, computer science, nursing, engineering, information systems, analytics, business, finance, economics, or health care administration.

6 years of work experience with progressively increasing responsibility in education, marketing, healthcare, business intelligence, analytics, operations, finance, or information systems.


Previous experience preparing and delivering both small and large group presentations to administrators, physicians, and others


Must be able to manage risk and ambiguity, work effectively with operational staff, leadership, and clinicians to define scope, and be able to manage multiple and often changing priorities.


Time management skills to deliver high-quality training, reports and information in a dynamic environment with critical deadlines.


Strong analytical skills are required to address clinical, operational and system related problems, to gather and interpret clinical and financial data, and to prepare clear, concise management reports.


Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills to train complex information with leaders across the Ministry.


Demonstrated history of using reporting, spreadsheet, and databases is required. 


Must demonstrate analytical skills necessary to design both quantitative and qualitative data and find practical solutions to difficult and complex problems.


Proven skills in organizing projects, team building, training, and problem solving. 




Master’s degree in education, business, finance, nursing, economics or healthcare.


Recent experience in designing and developing portals within SharePoint.


Supervisory experience.


Experience developing streamlined user interfaces and building applications that graphically display complex quantitative data.


Extensive knowledge of the OSF HealthCare specific clinical and financial systems including Epic, Midas, Crimson, Strata, PeopleSoft, Premier, etc. 


Excellent analytical application skills (Adobe Captivate, SQL, Business Objects, Crystal Reports, Access, Qlikview, Tableau, TIBCO Spotfire, MicroStrategy, mapping/GIS software, Excel with attention to Pivot tables, PowerPivot, PowerQuery, Data Model, etc.). Development expertise with web applications or business intelligence platforms.  Able to evaluate technology in context of process & reporting needs and utilize such technology applications for creating reports.


Deep knowledge of database design principles, methodologies and tools, including, but not limited to, work flows, field structure, table layout, joins, etc.
