Job Description

Description

Following established policies and procedures, performs and records two-dimensional ultrasound diagnostic tests of patients' internal organs and vascular structures. In doing so, obtains information about normal and abnormal anatomy used to diagnosis disease. Ensure ultrasound tests are of acceptable quality and records results.

Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Eligible for registration as a Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer.

 

Must take registry exam within 6 months of employment and pass within 1 year.

 

Eligible for registration as a Registered Vascular Technologist.

 

Must take registry exam within 6 months of employment and pass within 1 year.

 

Work requires a professional level of knowledge of ultrasound techniques and procedures at a level that generally can be acquired by completion of 2 years training in Radiology Technology or equivalent plus an additional year training in Ultrasonography.
