Description

The Pastoral Care Program Manager is an integral part of all patient care units of the medical center. They serve, support and complement the interdisciplinary care team, serving the spiritual, emotional and psychosocial needs of all patients across the lifespan as well as the needs of family members and Mission Partners, assisting in their holistic healing.  The Pastoral Care Program Manager facilitates the response to illness and trauma through the eyes of faith and in light of the Gospel. On-call shifts and weekend hours required.

Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Must be of the Roman Catholic Faith


Bachelors degree in related discipline or an Ordained Catholic Deacon in good standing with his Catholic Diocese


BCC(Board Certified Chaplain) or NACC(National Association of Catholic Chaplains) Certification or equivalent Certification as determined by Leadership

 

All Pastoral Care Staff Members must be approved by the Catholic Bishop of the Diocese of Peoria IL and given the direct ministry leadership role of this position.

 

Acceptance of ongoing development and formation, for example, Clinical Pastoral Education.

 

Excellent assessment, communication, organizational and interpersonal skills required. Displays problem solving and conflict resolution skills.

 

Handles confrontation in a compassionate and diplomatic manner.

 

Recognizes and accommodates the wide variety of patient needs encountered in today’s healthcare environment.

 

Possesses good physical and mental health, enabling the Mission Partner to withstand the strenuous activity and long hours involved in chaplaincy work.

 


 

 

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Prior experience in healthcare pastoral ministry

 

1 or more units of Clinical Pastoral Education
