Job Description


The Experiential Instructional Designer works collaboratively with the clinical faculty and staff of Jump Simulation in the design and production of interactive, highly visual online courses, written documentation, and educational publications. Working both independently and collaboratively, this person designs engaging and effective instructional materials applying sound adult learning theory principles. This person demonstrates expertise in visual design tools like Adobe Creative Cloud in order to create animations, edited videos, medical illustrations, infographics, and other visualizations that help ensure learner comprehension and engagement through online courses. They employ a diverse methodology for conducting assessments in online and interactive experiences, seeking to ensure objectives are achieved. They conduct self-assessments to determine opportunities for improvement in technique with the goal of always facilitating the best possible learning experiences. They continually explore new methods for potential application to instructional problems.




Bachelor’s Degree


2 years’ experience in research, design, and development of technology-based instructional materials.


2 years’ experience with UI/UX design, graphic design, storyboard creation, and other 2D or 3D animation, using Adobe Creative Cloud or other similar toolsets.


Experience with Adobe Captivate, Lectora, or other similar interactivity toolsets.


Experience with learning management systems.


Strong oral and written communication skills, with a background in technical writing, and the ability to adapt content to suit the target audience, whether general or specialty audiences.


Excellent organizational skills.


Commitment to customer service and team-oriented management.


Ability to interpret client needs and produce instructional materials.


Proven ability to continually adapt and learn new procedures and software programs.


Knowledge of current instructional theories and principles applicable to web-based instruction.


High level of expertise with software that facilitates the design of instruction (storyboards, flow charts, design templates, assessments, etc.) and the ability to process detailed information in an accurate manner.


Demonstrated ability to work well with others. 





Master’s Degree in Instructional Design, Biomedical Visualization, Curriculum Development, Art & Design, or related fields



Experience with the Canvas (Instructure) learning management system.


Experience with web development with an understanding of HTML and CSS code.



High degree of competency in design, graphic development, animation, and similar skills.
